About

History

In the summer of 2012 multiple families came together and felt the overwhelming call to bring the Lord's Church to Ashville, Ohio. We are motivated by our theme verse Psalm 119:111 to profess our heritage that we receive through the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. After some serious discussion and prayer we have begun to establish a congregation in this community, and we are looking forward the plans the Lord has for us in Ashville.

Statement of Beliefs

  • We the Heritage Church of Christ believe that the Lord God almighty created the world in which we live, and all things therein. We reference the book of Acts in relation to the establishment of the New Testament church and refer as Paul did to our congregations as “church of Christ. (Romans 16:16)
  •  We believe God gave his son Jesus, to be born of a virgin on Earth, to live a sinless life and who ultimately gave his life as the supreme sacrifice for the sins of the world. (Luke 1:35; Matt 27:31-56: Mark 15:20-41; Luke 23:33-49; John 19:16-30)
  •  We believe Jesus rose on the third day and after 40 days ascended to be at the right hand of God. (Mark 16:6; Luke 24:49-53; Acts 1:9)
  •  We know that the Bible is the inspired word of God, and use it to guide our actions and deeds. We believe that those that hear the word, believe the word, repent of their sins, confess the name of Jesus, and are buried with him in baptism have the hope of eternal life.
  •  We observe what we refer to as the Lord’s Supper each Sunday, where Christians partake of the unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (grape juice). (Acts 20:7)
  •  We also believe that one must live a Christian life in accordance with the scriptures after baptism to join the Lord in Heaven when this life is over. We don’t add to or take away from the scriptures and model our services after those of the first church and make music to the Lord through a cappella singing. (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)
